Upcoming Community Events: Hair Pulling (Trichotillomania), Skin Picking (Dermatillomania), Nail Biting (Onychophagia) and other Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs)

Upcoming Community Events: Hair Pulling (Trichotillomania), Skin Picking (Dermatillomania), Nail Biting (Onychophagia) and other Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs)

BFRB Changemakers and HabitAware knows the power of community is crucial to the healing process. We hope you can attend these upcoming events (in person / virtual options available) hosted by various community organizations.

The BFRB Community is one big, wide network. With an estimated 1 in 20 people having a BFRB, it has to be! And it feels so much better to confront our chronic hair pulling, skin picking, and/or nail biting when we're not alone.

If you have the ability to attend one of these events, we highly encourage it. There is something so freeing of walking into a room of people and realizing that each one of them understands the same struggle that you do, that feels impossible to articulate to people who don't get it. Come for community, stay for more!

Support BFRB Changemakers

BFRB Changemakers supports BFRB healing through community. Our mission is 3-fold:

  • raise awareness of debilitating conditions of Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) such as compulsive hair pulling (trichtotillomania), nail biting (onychophagia), and skin picking (dermatillomania),
  • increase and improve access to care, and
  • advance community recovery.

Through the BFRB Changemakers Training Academy we strive to increase access to care by offering Continuing Education training to new and seasoned mental health treatment professionals.

BFRB Changemakers is a 501c3 non-profit (EIN #93-1544492). Please make a donation to support these efforts!
