Participate in Trichotillomania Research: Online Research Study on Trichotillomania (Hair-Pulling) in Youth

Do You Have a Child Who Pulls Their Hair?

Help Us Learn More About How They Feel

The Pediatric Anxiety and Related Disorders Center (PARC) at Kent State University is
conducting a research study to better understand how children and teens who pull their
hair (a condition known as trichotillomania) feel about themselves and their behavior.

We are currently seeking parent-child pairs to participate. While we strongly encourage
participation from both you and your child, we also welcome responses from parents who
are participating on their own.

You may be eligible if:
• You are a parent of a child between 12 and 18 years old
• Your child currently pulls their hair
• You live with your child at least 50% of the time
English is your and your child’s primary language

Eligible participants will complete a set of online questionnaires.

• The parent portion takes about 15–20 minutes

• The child portion (if applicable) also takes about 15–20 minutes

Your participation is completely voluntary, and responses are confidential.
