Sarah Conquers Nail Biting with HabitAware Keen

Sarah Conquers Nail Biting with HabitAware Keen

Sarah P is a 32-year old, living in Los Angeles.  This is how Sarah is Conquering with Keen Awareness, in her own words.

"I grew up in a broken home and was moved around a lot as a kid. At age 5, I turned to nail biting as a way to ease my stress. My nails were short, brittle and people always caught me with my hand in my mouth. I was embarrassed, ashamed, and felt stuck in a vicious cycle of self-sabotage. My chronic nail biting made my life grim and dull, which in turn made me shy and afraid to make friends. Sadly, this bad habit followed me into adulthood until I learned about HabitAware Keen.

When I was finally ready to grow up, I became fed up with living in shame and embarrassment. I went online to search for help and stumbled upon Keen! Anytime I would put my nails in my mouth, the bracelet vibrated, reminding me there is another way to deal with stress instead of taking it out on my (what could be) cute nails, and I committed to making the change.

From Self-Sabotage to Self-Care

When using Keen, I became super aware of where my hands were at all times. When Keen vibrated, I would set my hand back down in my lap or continue with whatever task I was doing at the time. Instead of biting my nails, I now paint them! They are long and beautiful!! Now, whenever I'm stressed, I focus on my breathing, remind myself of things I'm grateful for, put on music and dance, or sit in silence and let the uncomfortable emotions pass.

The HabitAware Keen bracelet gave me structure and the extra motivation I needed to change. Today I have strong, healthy nails and feel confident and poised. I am now succeeding in my career goals and building a network of people I care about. Hopefully, one day I'll even find my husband and be able to start my own family! I don't have to hide behind ugly nails anymore and feel ashamed. I can now live my life loud and proud!

The Keen bracelet pushes you to be the best possible version of yourself. My advice is to be patient with it and make a solid decision to quit your BFRB before putting it on. It is a process, and a journey, so enjoy the bumps in the road. At the finish line, you will be free of your BFRB! Without my Keen bracelet's help, I would still be lacking the support I needed to drop my BFRB for good! The Keen bracelet isn't just a tool to help you quit a bad habit, it's a constant reminder there is a better life out there for you, and all you have to do is decide to live it. Let the Keen bracelet do the rest!
